Next meeting

There is no next meeting. Screenings have ended.

The Melbourne Anime Society has officially wrapped up. This over-rides all other mention on these and any other connected pages of when and where our regular meetings are. The MAS is gone, defunct, stopped, and at an end. It has ceased to be. I was hoping South East Animation would take over the gap smoothly enough for me to continue these pages with slight alterations. Ah well.

The last MAS screening was on 28 June 2008. This featured the final episodes of Dennõ Coil and Claymore. Screenings went late, with the okay of the Town Hall, and there was pizza.

If you are really desperate for your regular anime fix, all is not lost. There will be a new anime club. South East Anime screenings will be at Clayton, might well be at Justin's, and will probably be on the second and fourth Saturdays. It may start at one p.m. ... or two p.m ... or seven p.m. And in the future may not necessarily even be on Saturdays. I'm sorry, but this is as definite as I can get, for the moment. Would you believe it took a group of people meeting on the third Saturday of June to get this decisive. For the latest information, follow this link.

WHERE AND WHEN
MAS screenings are at Northcote Town Hall, 189 High Street, Northcote, from 12:30pm to 5:30pm, on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

    Please note:
  • MAS may shift the screening day by one week * if it falls on the Easter Weekend.
  • There will be no screening on the weekend of Manifest - Melbourne Anime Festival.
  • There is no second screening in December due to Christmas.
  • Problems with hall bookings, although highly rare, have been known to screw things up in the past.
(* For example: Due to Easter, the meetings in March 2008 were on the 8th and the 29th.)
