The Melbourne Anime Society officially wrapped up on 28 June 2008. For those missing their regular anime fix, comes South East Anime. It will meet in Clayton, might well be at Justin's, and will probably be on the second and fourth Saturdays. It may start at one p.m. ... or two p.m ... or seven p.m. And in the long term will not necessarily be on Saturdays. I'm sorry, but this is as definite as I can be, at this time.
There was a get-together in Clayton on the third Saturday of June, to decide the fate of anime screenings in Melbourne. I was unable to attend, and it took a week to obtain the above results of that meeting. To get anything more precise, try contacting Justin Semmel at justin.semmel@gmail.com or phone him at 9544 7140. South East Anime is taking over the MAS loan library. There are plans for it to use the old web site and post office box, for at least the next few months. Before you write enquiries to the old MAS address, I am not sure anyone has yet been organised to clear the box. (In fact, I would be surprised if anyone has.) The MAS email addresses were being eratic even while the MAS was going at full strength, so it is not recommended you count on those, either. I recommend going to Justin (see above contact details) for any immediate enquiries. More information will be added to this page, and all former M.A.S. pages, when I find out anything more definite.
